Forest Stewardship Council. FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world's forests.
Recycled papers have been used by us since they were first introduced 20 years ago, we can now source not only the main 100% recycled papers, but also some of the more unusual ones.
FSC provides clients with an absolute certainty that the paper they have selected can be traced through a chain of custody that documents the plantation from which the timber was sourced. The scheme provides an assurance that the FSC content of the paper is traceable to a sustainable managed plantations and that any other pulp content will be from a reputable source.
GVA Grimley 'save a tree' charter.
- We have supplied GVA with high quality printed stationery for over ten years; we print and store a comprehensive range which includes letter headings, continuation sheets, particulars paper, envelopes and business cards.
- At the beginning of 2007 we were asked to implement a plan whereby GVA Grimleys carbon footprint could be considerably reduced.
- Following an extensive proofing exercise during which we supplied proofs printed on various recycled stocks, GVA Grimley selected material in keeping with their environmental policy without compromising the high quality required.
- Also the reports generated by online procurement solution helped us to establish which items that were being ordered frequently in small units; through analysis of this data we are now delivering in larger volumes. This has resulted in us making one delivery a week instead of five times a week, not only have carriage costs been reduced but in line with their environmental policy GVA Grimleys carbon footprint has been reduced considerably in their print procurement.
